Dice the ham into small bite-sized cubes. If using leftover ham, trim off any fat.

Dice the bell pepper and onion into small pieces.

Shred the cheese if not using pre-shredded.

If adding potatoes or hash browns, cook them until crispy and golden.
Step 2: Sauté the Veggies and Ham

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

Add the diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.

Stir in the diced ham and cook for another 2–3 minutes, just enough to warm through and release flavor.

Remove mixture from the skillet and set aside.
