Vanilla Custard Cream Squares

1️⃣ Prepare the base

Crush the biscuits finely.

Mix with melted butter.

Press firmly into a lined rectangular pan.

Refrigerate for 20 minutes.

2️⃣ Make the vanilla custard

Heat the milk with half the sugar until warm.

In a bowl, whisk eggs, remaining sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla.

Slowly pour the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking.

Return to heat and cook on medium, stirring constantly until thick.

Remove from heat, add butter, mix well.

Pour custard over the biscuit base and smooth.

Let cool completely.

3️⃣ Cream layer

Whip the cream with powdered sugar until stiff.

Spread evenly over the custard layer.

Refrigerate for 4–6 hours (or overnight).

Dust generously with powdered sugar.

Cut into neat squares and serve chilled.


🌟 Tips

For extra firmness, chill overnight.

You can replace biscuits with sponge cake.

Add lemon zest or vanilla bean for more flavor.
