My Daughter B3nned Me From Her Wedding After I Gave Her an $8 Million Vineyard Estate

But I could no longer ignore it.

“Understood,” I said.

Then I ended the call.

I sat at the kitchen table Richard had built during the second year of our marriage. Outside, the vineyard stretched across the morning light, green and orderly.

The silence did not feel lonely.

It felt clean.

I finished my coffee, opened my laptop, and reviewed every wedding payment scheduled for noon.

Then I called Ben, the man who had managed the vineyard for sixteen years.

“Change the code at the private gate,” I said.

“All right.”

“And replace the lock on the stone house.”

He paused.

“Do you want me to ask why?”

“No.”

“Then I won’t.”

I also instructed him not to admit any wedding vendors onto the property.

Next, I called each company and canceled the event.

I apologized to the vendors and agreed to compensate them for completed work. They had done nothing wrong, but I could not continue funding a wedding from which I had been deliberately excluded.

By eleven, everything was canceled.

I went outside and spent two hours trimming roses.

When I returned, my phone displayed fifty-nine missed calls.

Samantha accused me of destroying her wedding. Greg threatened legal action. His mother called me spiteful and controlling. Even distant relatives claimed I had sabotaged the event to demonstrate power over my daughter.

Greg sent one final message:

**You will hear from our attorney.**

So I called mine.

Patricia Vance had handled my legal affairs for twelve years. After hearing what happened, she reviewed the documents connected to the stone house.

Although I had given Samantha the key, the deed had never been transferred. I had planned to complete the legal process after the wedding.

“The property still belongs entirely to you,” Patricia explained. “Legally, the gift was never completed.”

I looked through the kitchen window at the restored stone house.

“What would you like to do?” she asked.

“I haven’t decided yet.”
